A song stolen from an Irish tenor singing in a pub in a dream I had one night. I awoke and wrote the first two verses directly onto my four-track at three in the morning. A traditional ballad with the aim of telling a traditional story with a traditional moral message for the ages. The video replicates the idea by suggesting a traditional silent movie-style clip.

I’ll always remember the first time I met her
Together we promised till death do we part
But how could we know we’d be true to the letter

She took to a ship as the ship took to sailing
My heart was as black as the gathering storm

I stood stern and cold as the rocks smashed against her
Every night from the shore I can still hear her call
For damned is the man who let’s true love leave lightly
